The Shattered pearl / South Productions for Channel Four in association with RTVE (Spain) and SBS (Australia)  New York, N.Y. : First Run Icarus Films, c1991.
Modern Sri Lanka has become the battleground for a civil war waged by Tamil, Sinhala, and Muslim groups. This conflict led
to the kidnap and murder in 1990 of Richard De Zoysa, a liberal journalist who reported on human rights abuses. The notoriety surrounding De Zoysa's killing meant world attention for Sri Lanka, and the women's groups which came together to offer support to the victims of violence. This film focuses on the war, the human rights abuses, and the women who continue to struggle for justice and peace.
