Open Access

Open-access (OA) literature is free, digital, and available to anyone online. An open-access article has limited copyright and licensing restrictions which means anyone may read, download, copy, and distribute that article. Here are some resources supporting open access at UC Berkeley:

UC eScholarship
Provides open access publishing options to the University of California community. UC authors can post author versions (or "postprints") of their articles when publisher policies allow it.
Berkeley Research Impact Initiative (BRII)
Provides funding to Berkeley authors to help publish their articles in open access journals.
arXiv (e-Print Archive)
Deposit preprints of articles in physics, mathematics, computer science, quantitative biology, quantitative finance and statistics.
