Bioengineering: Start

A guide to research sources for bioengineering topics.

Campus Libraries for Bioengineering

Campus libraries that have materials related to bioengineering include:

Collections in these libraries can be discovered by searching the OskiCat catalog.

Borrow externally

If Berkeley does not own a publication, you can borrow it from an external library by requesting an interlibrary loan.

This is a free service to Berkeley faculty, staff, and students, and you make an order through the Interlibrary Borrowing Service request form

If it’s a print book, a copy will be delivered to the Doe Library for pick up. For journal articles, we email you a PDF copy of the paper. This service takes 1-2 weeks, sometimes longer.

Off-campus Access

To access UCB Library resources from off campus, configure your machine using one of two simple methods (Proxy Server is the quickest and easiest):

Proxy Server
After you make a one-time change in your web browser settings, the proxy server will ask you to log in with a CalNet ID when you click on the link to a licensed resource. See the setup instructions, FAQ, and Troubleshooting pages to configure your browser.  Follow these steps to check your proxy configuration.

VPN (Virtual Private Network)
After you install and run the VPN client software on your computer, you can log in with a CalNet ID to establish a secure connection with the campus network.
