You can now request that books and other library materials from 25 campus libraries be delivered to any of those libraries. Just use the Berkeley OskiCat catalog to find the circulating item you'd like, click on the yellow Request button near the top of the screen and enter your CalNet ID and password. Finally, select your favorite library to have the item delivered to. It will arrive within three business days; in most cases sooner. Imagine requesting books from the Bioscience & Natural Resources Library, Earth Sciences & Map Library, MAIN Stacks, and Anthropology Library from the comfort of your home and having them all sent to the Environmental Design Library where you can pick them up on your way to class the next morning.
Borrowers may return books to any campus library location, rather than having to return them to the owning library. Exceptions apply to reserves, interlibrary loans, materials from the Law Library and special items such as maps, music scores and media.
Feel free to drop off your returns at the IGS reference/circulation desk.
The Interlibrary Borrowing Service assists UC Berkeley students, faculty and staff request books, articles and other materials not available (e.g. the material is in-use, in process, missing, at the bindery, not owned) at UC Berkeley using Melvyl and other IBS tools.
