You can request books from nearly any campus library and have them delivered to the library of your choice.
The requested item(s) will arrive within three business days or sooner.
Books may be returned to any campus library, and will be shipped back to the owning library.
Exceptions include: books on reserve, interlibrary loans, Law Library materials, and special items such as maps, music scores and media.
The Interlibrary Borrowing Service assists UC Berkeley students, faculty and staff request books, articles and other materials not available (e.g. the material is in-use, in process, missing, at the bindery, not owned) at UC Berkeley using Melvyl and other IBS tools.

1. Find a source: use Mevyl and use the Request button for items from other University of California campuses. You will be taken to a request screen in the Inter-Library Loan website.

2. Request through ILL: You can also search Worldcat to find an owning library outside the UC System. When you find an item, make sure to note the Accession (OCLC) number and proceed to the IBS Request Form below.
In-person - You can visit Interlibrary Services at 133 Doe Library where the staff can assist you with your request.
Electronically filled articles or part(s) of book requested are delivered to you via email listed in the UC Berkeley directory. Articles filled via Fax or US Post will be mailed to you at the address in the UC Berkeley directory.
