Reference and Getting Started

Encyclopedias are a great place to start when exploring a research topic! Encyclopedias are organized alphabetically and are sometimes several volumes. Entries are written by scholars and can be between a half page or several pages and often contain several citations for further reading. Some encyclopedias are available as online databases while others are cataloged and available either as e-books or in print.
