BITSS Open Research Seminar

The Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS) and the UC Berkeley Library are excited to announce the Open Research Seminar (ORS), a webinar series to promote and share knowledge about the use of tools and practices for transparency and reproducibility in social science research. The ORS will be an opportunity for researchers to showcase applications of specific tools and practices (e.g., developing a lab protocol for reproducibility, building a website to catalog open datasets, etc.) or evaluations of the effectiveness of existing tools and practices (e.g., results-blind peer review and publication bias). All webinars will be free and open to register to the general public.

The Open Research Seminar is hosted thanks to the generous support provided by the Templeton World Charity Foundation.

What is BITSS?

The Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS) is an organization that strives to enhance the credibility of science by advancing transparency, reproducibility, rigor, and ethics in research. With the help of researchers, students, faculty, publishers, and funders across disciplines, BITSS is able to generate evidence, increase access to open science education, and strengthen the scientific ecosystem. BITSS was established in 2012 as part of the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA), a UC Berkeley-based hub for research on global development.
