Investment Screening with PitchBook: Finding VC Firms of Interest

Lists of VC Firms

  • You can search Google for lists of top VC firms, like this one.
  • You can search PitchBook for the latest PitchBook-NVCA Venture Monitor report, which will have league tables toward the end of the PDF. Q1, Q2, and Q3 reports have quarterly league tables; Q4 reports have annual league tables. Firms are ranked by number of deals.
  • You can do an Investors and Funds screen in PitchBook for firms that meet your criteria, following the instructions below.

Investors and Funds screening

In the left sidebar under Screeners, click Investors & Funds.

Then, on the right side:

  • under Investor Criteria, ​​​set your Investor Types (in this case, Venture Capital as the Primary Type)

 

 

  • under Deal Criteria, set your
    • Deal Types (in this case, Series B and later)
    • Deal Size
    • Deal Dates (in this case, last 300 days)
    • Deal Location (in this case, United States)
    • Industries, Verticals, and Keywords (in this case, Fintech OR Cryptocurrency/Blockchain)

 

 

The results are ranked by number of deals. You can change the ranking by clicking on the sort arrow next to the column header of your choice.
