Finding books: UC Library Search

Use UC Library Search to find books, book chapters, peer-reviewed articles from scientific journals, newspaper and magazine articles, videos, and other resources on a topic.

Enter your search terms in the search box and click the Search icon:

In the left-hand Refine your results menu you can limit your results by type of resource, author, language, date or date range, and other criteria.

To limit to books and book chapters available online, select the boxes to the left of the appropriate filters from the Refine your results menu. All filter choices should be checked before clicking the Apply Filters button as the last step.

UC Library Search Refine your results menu

  1. Show Only: Available online
  2. Resource Type: Book Chapters
  3. Resource Type: Books
  4. Apply Filters button

Please note: Once resource type filters have been applied they appear at the top of the left-hand sidebar under Active filters, and the category of Resource Type will no longer appear in the Refine your results menu.

To add additional resource type filters or apply different ones, you must first remove the resource type filters already applied. Only then will the available Resource Type filters reappear in the Refine your results menu.
