Logic and the Methodology of Science: Start

A guide to research resources on mathematical logic.

Logic Collection

The Mathematics Statistics Library maintains a collection on mathematical logic in support of the Group in Logic and the Methodology of Science. Materials on mathematical logic and related areas may also be found in the following libraries:

This collection is generously supported by the Professor William Craig Endowment Fund for Maintaining Strength in Logic and Related Areas. In addition, the Group maintains its own Logic Library of reprints, dissertations, key texts, and other materials in the Alfred Tarski Room (727 Evans). This collection is for use by faculty and graduate students.

Off-campus Access

We offer two ways to access UCB licensed library resources from off-campus:

EZProxy
When accessing a library licensed resource via links found on UC Library Search or our Databases A-Z list, you may be prompted to authenticate via CalNet or via your PIN / Cal 1 card number. If you normally search via non-licensed UCB resources (such as Google Scholar), we recommend that you install our bookmarklet in order to authenticate.

VPN (Virtual Private Network)
After you install and run the VPN client software on your computer, you can log in with a CalNet ID to establish a secure connection with the campus network.

Borrow externally

If Berkeley does not own a publication, you can borrow it from an external library by requesting an interlibrary loan. This is a free service to Berkeley faculty, staff, and students. The average wait for an ILL request is one week but items borrowed from out-of-state take longer to arrive.

Books, Journal Articles & Conference Papers
To make an interlibrary loan request for a book, journal article or conference paper, sign into UC Library Search and locate the record for the item you want and follow the instructions to initiate a request. A copy will be delivered to the campus library of your choice for pick up. In the case of articles and conference papers, we normally email you a PDF copy of the paper. If you cannot locate the item in UC Library Search, you can make an order through the Interlibrary Borrowing Service request form.

Other Publications
For other types of publications, try searching UC Library Search first. If you are unable to locate the record, make an order through the Interlibrary Borrowing Service request form or contact us for help
