L2 Voter Data access instructions from UC Berkeley

L2 DataMapping Tool

The DataMapping tool provides users with the ability to define specific geographic areas via an interactive map, and then select data points to extract from the L2 data files. Complete the L2 Request form to apply for a user name and password to access the tool.

Getting Started

What are some things it can do?

Reports: Can include a Table of Contents, Cover Page, and Totals. Users can customize the field sets and the area.

Spreadsheets: By clicking on the rectangle to the left of the field, select rows and columns to create a custom spreadsheet.

Custom Shapes: Use different shapes to select geographically specific portions of the population.

  • Use the rectangle to draw polygons. Use the circle or radius tool to select an area that is a 5 mile radius from point of interest. Use the lasso to draw around an irregular shaped selection.

Image Composer Tool: Capture your customized map and an accompanying legend in a PDF format for presentations or reports.
