La obra colectiva que aquí presentamos tiene el propósito de consolidar las ideas de un grupo de investigadores, reunidos para aunar conocimientos y sinergias con el fin de ofrecer recursos a un colectivo de personas que se encuentra entre los más vulnerables, así como a todos aquellos profesionales que deben brindarles asistencia en alguna ocasión. El volumen consta de tres bloques. El primero está a cargo de investigadores del ámbito sanitario y científico del Hospital Parc Taulí, centro de referencia para enfermedades raras de base genética y su intervención. Cada capítulo aglutina un número de síndromes relacionados con su descripción científica y las indicaciones de intervención. El segundo bloque incluye cuatro capítulos relacionados con la interpretación en el contexto de la discapacidad. El tercer bloque incluye trabajos de investigación sobre tecnologías, sistemas para la comunicación y subtitulado.
