Collections

The Chemistry, Astronomy & Physics Library's services and collections primarily support the teaching and research needs of faculty, students, and staff in the College of Chemistry, Department of Astronomy, and Department of Physics.

The collections include over 25,000 onsite volumes, over 100,000 offsite volumes, and over 1500 current journal titles in astronomy, chemistry, chemical engineering, and physics. Almost all of the current journals are available electronically. Major reference sources include Scifindern, Reaxys, SpringerMaterials, and the Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology.

Other campus libraries whose collections serve the chemical and physical sciences are the Bioscience, Natural Resources & Public Health Library, the Mathematics Statistics Library, and the Engineering Library.

Use of the Collections

The Chemistry, Astronomy & Physics Library collections and services are open to the public except for the use of SciFindern.

Use of SciFindern is strictly restricted to UC students, faculty and staff. It is limited to academic purposes only; no commercial use.

Journals are shelved in the mezzanine and books on the lower floor, both organized by Library of Congress call number arrangementVisitors to the UCB libraries who wish to borrow materials should visit the library cards page or contact the Privileges Desk.

Printing and scanning services are available.
