The records of the historical struggles and experiences of communities of color are all around us and are "hidden in plain sight." Primary sources illuminate the past and can help us understand who we are, where we want to go, and can deepen our connection to our communities and the world. Unfortunately, traditional archives often marginalize the histories of communities of color so it is important to search for alternative and community archives.
