Tips for adding citations

Academic Search Complete
1. Search example: subject: asthma
2. Click on 'Add to Folder Link'
3. Click: Folder View (right menu bar) Select records in folder. Click on the Export Icon (right menu bar)
5. Click: "Direct Export to Refworks" or "Direct Export to Endnote"
6. Click: SAVE. Refworks or Endnote will open and download to the open 'Library'.
[If the computer has Endnote: it will open and download your citations automatically.

Google Scholar
1. Open Google Scholar Settings
2. Under Bibliography Manager: Show links to import citations: select Endnote, Refworks, BibTeX.
3. SAVE.
4. Search for "asthma" Note: Click "download to EndNote" for each citation, Your Endnote Library, will open and download.-- citation may not be complete.

JSTOR
1. Search keywords: natural ventilation
2. Click boxes to save citations.
3. Click: Export Citations bottom of page).
4. Select format: RIS File for EndNote, Refworks OR Text File for BibTeX.
[If your computer has EndNote: it will open and download your citations automatically.]
(You may need to open an account or login to enable saving and exporting)

Selected Science Databases

BIOSIS Previews
1. Search example: topic - indoor air pollution
2. Save Results, check the boxes.
3. Click: EndNote, Refworks, Procite, BibTEX or other .txt formats.
[Endnote: If the computer has EndNote: it will open and download your citations automatically.]
[Refworks: should open and download or save as .txt file and "Import into Refworks"]

Embase
1. Search example: seasonal affective disorder
2. Select citations
3. Click: export
4. the RIS format menu will open - Click Export
5. Download to EndNote, EndNote will open and cittation will be saved.

GeoRef
1. Search example: keyword - cosmic dust, date range: 2010 to present
2. Save selected citations.
3. Click: Export / Save
4. Click: Output to: select - EndNote, Refworks or other.
5. EndNote or Refworks will open and save the citations.

History of Science, Technology & Medicine
1. Search: subject - oppenheimer, j. robert
2. Save selected citations
3. Click: Export & Select Export to: EndNote (or Refworks)
5. Saved records will be imported. You may need to select a filter: OCLC Hist Filter.

PubMed (UC Berkeley)
1. Search example: cell evolution
2. Save results - check boxes.
3. Send to Citation Manager (see top menu under "Send to:)
4. Select Open With ResearchSoft Direct Export Helper.
5. Select Endnote or Endnoteweb

Web of Science
1. Search example: topic - dipolar particles
2. Save Results, check the boxes.
3. Click: EndNote, Refworks, Procite, BibTEX or more options.
4. If your computer has EndNote: it will open and download your citations automatically.

For RefWorks: save as .txt file and click on Import into RefWorks. OR: Choose "Save" and save the file to disk.
