Social Networks and Archival Context (SNAC) is a digital research project that "helps users discover biographical and historical information about persons, families, and organizations that created or are documented in historical resources (primary source documents) and their connections to one another. Users can locate archival collections and related resources held at cultural heritage institutions around the world."
To search, begin by entering a name and the system will attempt to complete. If the name is not listed in the dropdown list, it may not exist in the research tool. You can filter by type (person, corporate body, family). As duplicate entries may exist for a person or group, they suggest exploring each record.
