Using Microfilm & Microfiche

The UC Berkeley Libraries has extensive microform (microfilm and microfiche) collections, containing valuable information for researchers.

Microfilm and microfiche owned by the UC Berkeley Libraries can be found through UC Library Search. Use the Advanced Search to search for the title or a topic and combine that with a call number search for microfilm (or microfiche, if that is the format you are looking for).

The Newspapers/Microfillm room is closed, but library staff will page items for you. To make a request, please send an email to pericirc@library.berkeley.edu and include as much information as possible about the collection or item that you would like to view. They will reply generally within a couple of business days. Items they are able to page will be placed at the Doe Circulation Desk; they can be viewed at microform readers nearby. For further questions, please contact Paul Lynch, head of the Newspapers & Microforms Library.
