European Union: Statistics & Data

Introduction

Eurostat is the statistical office of the European Union situated in Luxembourg. Its task is to provide the European Union with statistics at European level that enable comparisons between countries and regions. 

Most EU data, including the following categories, can be found in Eurostat, but not all (see below).  The EU has an open data portal which provides access to open data published by EU institutions and bodies. 

UC Berkeley is also a recognized Eurostat Research Entity which enables qualified researchers to apply for access to restricted use microdata. For more information please contact the UC Berkeley D-Lab

Statistics and Data from other EU Agencies

Airbase. European air quality database maintained by the EEA through its European topic centre on Air pollution and Climate Change mitigation.

European Environmental Agency Datasets. Large collection of data: land use, biodiversity, pollution, climate change, the green economy, soil, and much more.

European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR). Europe-wide register that provides key environmental data from industrial facilities in the European Union.

European Central Bank Statistics Portal.  See especially the statistical warehouse.

Statistical Data Warehouse.   Extensive data from the European Central Bank on monetary anf financial stattics. Registering allows you to save your work. This is different from the main ECB statistics portal above.
