Books at Bancroft

Bancroft is one of UC Berkeley's primary special collections library. They preserve manuscripts (unpublished materials) in the forms of authors' letters and notes. They also house hundreds of thousands of published materials including novels, publishers' catalogs, autobiographical material, pamphlets, and more.

Students and scholars of English literature will likely be interested in collections like History of books and printingWestern Americana (Alaska to Panama; Hawai'i' to the Rockies); and African American authors. Check out the descriptions at the Bancroft Library page here and plan a visit!
