Global Study on Homicide
Due to its serious nature and recording by multiple data sources (police and public health), intentional homicide is widely accepted as one of the most accurate, reliable and comparable crime indicators for world crime trends and patterns. Using data from the United Nations Surveys on Crime Trends and the Operations of Criminal Justice Systems (UN-CTS) and the latest "homicide statistics" dataset of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Report provides a global overview of levels and trends of intentional homicide and its relationship with, and impact on, human development.
Global Status Report on Violence Prevention
This report focuses on interpersonal violence, which includes child maltreatment, youth violence, intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and elder maltreatment. Much like similar reports on road safety, tobacco control, and mental health, this snapshot of the state of interpersonal violence prevention in each country will serve as benchmark for countries to assess their violence prevention efforts; as a baseline to track future progress in violence prevention internationally; to identify gaps in national responses to violence that need to be addressed; and to catalyze further prevention action. Its ultimate aim is to strengthen Member States' capacity to prevent violence.
Regional Transnational Organized Crime Threat Assessment
This regional assessment is broadly focused on transnational organized crime (including drug trafficking) issues and the linkages with development, governance and security in East Asia and the Pacific. This Report is intended to provide a more comprehensive and nuanced picture of contraband flows, criminal markets and their political, social and economic impacts on the regions in question.
